Greetings from the Art Teacher!

My name is Barb Moorhead and I am the art teacher for the Cataract School. I have taught art in Sparta for 20 years. I presently teach at Cataract School, Meadowview Intermediate School, and Lakeview Montessori School. Each class has art once a week for 60 minutes. The art classes are always a busy place with lots of creative activity!

The units covered each year are drawing, painting, paper design, pottery, printmaking, and weaving. The concepts are taught by doing the various projects using the elements of art and working with different materials. I incorporate art appreciation into the lessons. Ask your child what we have been doing during art class.

The 1st quarter we will be working on drawing skills using lines and shapes, and painting skills. Drawing from real life will be emphasized.

Mrs. Sara Anderson will be student teaching with me 1st quarter. She is excited about teaching your children and teaching art!
