Hi! My name is Derek Fuglsang and I am the new Title 1 teacher at Cataract. I grew up on a farm in eastern Iowa. I went to a private college in Iowa where I received a degree in elementary and physical education with an emphasis in reading, health and coaching. Then I came to the great state of Wisconsin and received my masters at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, where I coach wrestling. I live in La Crosse and enjoy the outdoors, biking, fishing and skiing.

This year Title 1 is going to focus on some phonics through the Sonday program with first grade and guided reading and reading strategies with the second and third graders. I look forward to working with the students and enjoy seeing them learn and grow.
